About HIMSS 2027
HIMSS27 brings healthcare technology leaders, providers, health IT professionals and technology companies to McCormick Place in Chicago. HIMSS says more than 24,000 healthcare professionals attended HIMSS26.
The exhibition focuses on healthcare technology, including AI, cybersecurity, digital health, data and healthcare transformation. Exhibitors use the show to demonstrate products, meet buyers and hold business meetings.
HIMSS changes cities each year. The 2026 show was in Las Vegas, and HIMSS28 moves to Orlando. See the official HIMSS27 venue guide for McCormick Place details, and check exhibit hall hours on the HIMSS27 Agenda at a Glance before you plan booth staffing, as hours can change.
HIMSS 2027 Floor Plan and Booth Locations
The HIMSS27 interactive floor plan is live on Map Your Show. McCormick Place is a large, multi-building venue, so confirm your hall and booth number before design starts. Booth space options and pricing are in the HIMSS27 prospectus.
Our advice. Give your builder your booth number, size, open sides and neighbors early. These decide where your demo stations, graphics and meeting space should face.
HIMSS Exhibitor List
The HIMSS27 exhibitor list is also on Map Your Show. Check who is near your booth and how large their spaces are. It helps you and your builder plan sightlines and stand out in your aisle.
Why HIMSS Booth Builders Plan Early for Chicago
The facts. HIMSS says over 24,000 healthcare professionals attended in 2026. For 2027 the show moves from Las Vegas to McCormick Place in Chicago.
What that means. Health IT exhibitors often show similar products, from EHR tools and data platforms to AI and cybersecurity. Your booth needs to explain your difference quickly from the aisle. A new city also means new venue rules, labor rules and shipping plans, even for brands that exhibited at HIMSS26.
Our advice. Talk to builders before the advance-order deadlines in the HIMSS27 exhibitor service manual. Ask each one about their McCormick Place experience, not only their HIMSS experience.
HIMSS Booth Options: Custom, Rental and Modular
Custom HIMSS booths
A custom build fits brands with a large space, a product launch, or a booth they plan to reuse. See how custom trade show booths are designed and built.
HIMSS booth rental
Renting suits first-time exhibitors and brands that change their booth each year. It can give you a custom look without the long-term storage and ownership costs of a purchased booth. Compare trade show booth rentals.
Modular HIMSS booths
Modular systems can be reconfigured across different booth sizes and layouts, making them useful for brands that exhibit at several healthcare shows a year. Learn about modular booth systems.
HIMSS 2027 Booth Design Tips for Health IT Brands
- Build demo stations, not just screens. Buyers want to see the workflow, so give each demo a seat and a clear task.
- Use demo data. Show your product with sample or synthetic data, never real patient records.
- Plan power and internet early. Live software demos fail when bandwidth is an afterthought.
- Separate demo and meeting space. Clinical and IT buyers want hands-on time. Executives want a quiet place to talk.
- Keep the headline short. One line on the problem you solve, readable from the aisle.

HIMSS Exhibitor Rules for Booth Builders (Historical Guidance)
The HIMSS27 exhibitor service manual is not public yet. The points below come from HIMSS26 exhibitor information on the HIMSS Events Knowledge Hub, when the show was in Las Vegas. Treat them as historical guidance and confirm each one in the HIMSS27 manual.
- Standard booths (2026): Included an 8 ft back drape, 3 ft side drape, an ID sign and 5 badges per 100 sq ft. Furniture was not included.
- Flooring (2026): Carpet or flooring was mandatory.
- Island booths (2026): All island designs needed show management approval in advance.
- Turnkey booths (2026): HIMSS offered turnkey packages in 10x10, 10x20 and 20x20 sizes.
- Service contractor (2026): Freeman was the official service contractor.
McCormick Place labor rules
The McCormick Place Exhibitor Bill of Rights (July 2026 version) lets an exhibitor's own full-time employees of at least six months set up and dismantle exhibits, hang graphics, and plug in electrical equipment, using hand tools, cordless tools and power tools. See the venue's labor rules and regulations for the full list. Many ProMat booth builders work under the same McCormick Place rules.
Using an EAC at HIMSS
Exhibitors can use an Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC), subject to HIMSS27's requirements. Your builder should confirm the EAC paperwork, insurance and deadlines in the HIMSS27 manual before move-in.
HIMSS Move-In, Move-Out and Deadlines (Historical Guidance)
The HIMSS27 move-in schedule is not published yet. The HIMSS26 exhibitor logistics guide gives a sense of the timing:
- Booth setup (2026): All booths had to be set by 1 PM the day before the exhibit hall opened.
- Dismantle (2026): No packing or dismantling until the hall closed on the last day.
- Advance warehouse (2026): Freeman accepted advance freight about two to five weeks before the show.
- Island drawings (2026): Due about seven weeks before the show.
Our advice. The HIMSS27 exhibit hall opens Tuesday, April 6. Plan island drawings for mid-February 2027 and confirm every date in the HIMSS27 manual.
HIMSS Hotels and Travel
For HIMSS26, exhibiting companies had to book hotel rooms through HIMSS's official housing company, onPeak. Check the official HIMSS exhibitor housing page and hotel booking page for the 2027 rules before booking. As of September 30, 2026, the housing page still shows HIMSS26 details.
